Mindstep supports new Family Therapy Clinic

The Mindstep Foundation, through their Small Grants programme has supported Tŷ Elis, a charity based in South Wales providing free counselling services, in establishing their Family Therapy Clinic.

The charity is looking to fill a gap in the provision of free family therapy in the area, which can be helpful in supporting family members to better understand each other and work through difficult feelings in a safe space.

The small grant of £700 will provide administrative support for the clinic during this pilot phase, which the charity hopes will lead to longer term investment.

Tŷ Elis is a charity that has been providing free counselling in our community for over 20 years. They remove barriers to accessing help by offering support to anyone aged 18 or over, without the need for referral. The charity also trains new counsellors in the accredited Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Course. They work in communities of disadvantage and deprivation in South Wales including Maesteg, Caerau, Cornelly, Pyle and the Cynon valley.
