Remembering Jon Tuck

The Mindstep Foundation are honoured to have received a donation of £3,000 from the loved ones of Jon Tuck, who made it their mission to raise funds for mental health following the loss of their Jon to suicide.

Today marks two years since Jon’s passing. In that time, the family have raised an incredible £10,000 for mental health causes and generously chose to support our suicide prevention research at the University of Glasgow, which aims to understand factors of suicide and interventions for those at risk.

Wendy, Jon’s wife, shared these words in his memory:

“In memory of Jon who we sadly lost, age 53. Jon was a loving and proud dad to three daughters, ‘Bandad’ to two grandchildren, a husband, brother and son.

His incredibly kind and calm nature meant he left behind a wide circle of loving friends and colleagues. He was a keen sportsman over the years, an avid cross-fitter, snowboarder and whilst still playing for his local football team his love for Liverpool Football Club was unsurpassed. He will also be remembered for his talents in the kitchen where he loved to create the most delicious food and cakes for everyone, including the beloved family pups.

Jon had a fantastic career in the sports industry and he was blessed to work alongside some incredible colleagues who became lifelong friends. The generosity of these friends, family and colleagues have led to this donation.

The wonderful JT will never be forgotten and will always be remembered for the incredible person he was.”

We are hugely grateful to Jon’s family for their support of the research during such a difficult time for their family.

As a charity, we chose to fund the research at the University of Glasgow to help prevent other loved ones from experiencing such a devastating loss to suicide. It is our hope that by supporting this work we can start to find answers to the many questions left unanswered for those bereaved by suicide.
