Congratulations to our ASIST Qualifiers
We are pleased to announce that Mindstep has qualified a further 16 individuals in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).
The team from RCT Domestic Abuse Services completed the two-day course with Mindstep trainers, Jo and Alex, in February 2025.
The course equips participants with the skills to recognise suicide risk, provide immediate intervention and connect individuals to professional support.
Why ASIST Matters
ASIST training plays a crucial role in suicide prevention. It provides participants with the tools to confidently step in when someone is at risk of suicide. Participants learn how to listen with empathy, create safety plans, and ensure people get the support they need. As one of our participants shared:
"Really enjoyed the workshop. It was intense but so informative and gave me the confidence to deal with anyone looking to end their life. I now feel confident to help a person at risk of suicide."
ASIST helps individuals to feel more confident and equipped to make a real difference. Another participant said:
"Really informative training, thoroughly enjoyed. I feel much more confident in knowing what to say and how to deal with a person displaying signs of suicide."
A huge thank you to RCT Domestic Abuse Services for your feedback and suicide prevention.
