Renewed partnership to fund suicide prevention research
Prof Rory O’Connor on the Mindstep partnership
Mindstep has renewed its partnership with the University of Glasgow to fund cutting-edge research into suicide prevention.
Having already supported research at the Suicidal Behaviour Research Laboratory with £100,000, Mindstep is contributing an additional £50,000 over the next two years to continue advancing our understanding of suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
The renewed funding will support research exploring a range of critical themes, including:
Innovative interventions to reduce distress and support individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts.
Psychological and social factors that contribute to suicidal ideation and risk.
Strategies to enhance resilience, wellbeing, and protective factors for vulnerable populations.
Collaboration and knowledge-sharing among early and mid-career researchers focused on suicide and self-harm.
This partnership allows the University of Glasgow to continue pioneering work that informs evidence-based approaches to suicide prevention and mental health support.
