Celebrating 1 year of Andy’s Man Club Abergavenny

Last year Mindstep worked with Andy's Man Club (AMC) ro establish a talking group in Monmouthshire. After learning about the excellent work that AMC was already doing with their talking groups for men every Monday 7-9 pm across the UK, we decided not to duplicate efforts but to work with them instead.

Last April, AMC Abergavenny opened its doors for the first time, and it has been a great success. The incredible facilitators have helped 105 different men, with 727 total attendances, and four more facilitators have joined the team.

"We are delighted to see the success of the AMC Abergavenny club, and we are proud to have contributed to its establishment," Georgia Davies, Trustee of Mindstep Foundation.

James Smith, who helped set up the club, is delighted with how it has helped men in the local area.

"It's been incredible to see how AMC Abergavenny has grown and helped so many men in our community. The club provides a safe and welcoming space for men to come together, share their experiences, and support each other through difficult times. It's great to see the positive impact that this club has had on so many lives."

The aim of AMC Abergavenny is to provide a safe space for men to talk, free from judgment, and in a non-clinical environment. The talking group meets every Monday (except bank holidays) from 7-9 pm at the Tithe Barn in Abergavenny. However, AMC’s take place all around the UK at the same time every Monday. The club welcomes anyone who wants to chat and find support in a friendly and non-judgmental setting.
